- Jim McDermott, chief human capital officer of the Nuclear Regulatory Commission, on one of the NRC’s recruitment strategies: offering a dating service to help single nuclear engineers meet one another (which “has so far resulted in about eight or nine weddings”).
The NRC doesn’t have a dating service. That is a mis-characterization.
However, the NRC is indeed full of young, smart, successful, talented, service-oriented, and (yes) single engineers. Given that situation, some romances do happen.
The NRC is obviously an agency where people are also allowed to show they have a sense of humor.
Just one more reason the NRC is the best place to work in the federal government!
